England dug deep to overcome early setbacks and reach 260-6 at the end of the third day of the fourth test against India on Saturday.
Jos Buttler (69) and Jos Buttler (37 not out) battled away to put England in sight of posting the sort of target that might prove difficult for India in the fourth innings on a pitch that continues to offer encouragement to the bowlers.
England lead by 233 runs with 2 wickets remaining.
Cheteshwar Pujara's unbeaten 132 on Friday helped India post 273 in the first innings and take a 27-run lead against England on the second day of the fourth Test at the Ageas Bowl cricket ground.
India had restricted England to 246, thanks to strong bowling by pacers Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Shami on first day of the match.
