After her wedding to Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone has been sporting sindoor, chooda and a mangalsutra
Newly married couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh were spotted at Bengaluru airport on Thursday as they headed to Mumbai after hosting their first wedding reception. While the newlyweds looked gorgeous in pastel pink Sabyasachi ensembles, it was Deepika's sindoor-free (vermilion) forehead that caught people's attention.
Have a look:
1. Deepika Padukone
Sindoor or Kumkum is first put on a woman by her husband on the day of her wedding and is considered a symbol of matrimony. It signifies her desire for her husband's long life and is also seen as a sign of her never dying love and devotion towards her better half.
However, the tradition of applying sindoor on a day to day basis is not customary in several sections of the Hindu society. The decision of wearing it is left entirely to the woman, who may or may not wish to apply it.
2. Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh spotted at the Bengaluru Airport
Ever since the Bollywood superstar has married Ranveer Singh, Deepika has been sporting a thick streak of sindoor in her hairline, chooda on her wrists and a petite mangalsutra in her neck. And, while the chooda and the mangalsutra still find a place in her airport looks, the sindoor often goes missing.
3. Bride Deepika's airport looks
Previously too, while flying to Bengaluru, Deepika had given her 'just-married look' a break. She had opted for a pristine white cotton anarkali and had chosen to give her sindoor a miss.
4. DeepVeer twinning into our hearts
While Ranveer was clicked in a powder pink silk kurta, Deepika teamed a subdued anarkali of the same colour with an embroidered dupatta.
5. Oh and the RK tattoo is still very much there
Rumours of Deepika Padukone having got rid of the 'RK' tattoo once again caught wind when she flaunted a spotless back during her last airport outing. But, this time it was very much visible.
6. Husband and Wife
The couple was all smiles as they posed for the paparazzi. Like the gentleman that he is, Ranveer escorted his wife hand-in-hand inside the airport.
