Thakur Anoop Singh: We shot for seven days for the climax scene
Thakur Anoop Singh

Thakur Anoop Singh, who started his journey on the big screen with Commando 2, is best remembered as the evil Vitthal Prasad in Tamil blockbuster Singam 3. Ahead of the Zee Cinema Premiere of the Hindi dubbed version of the film, called Suriya S3, the actor talks about his experience while shooting the film...

How did you become a part of Suriya S3?

After I finished Commando 2, I was offered Suriya S3. I was told that some Hollywood actor was supposed to do the villain’s role, but when the makers saw my profile along with Suriya sir, they liked it. Suriya sir called up Mukesh Chabbra, who then got in touch with me. The film’s director, Hari sir, came from all the way from Chennai to Mumbai to meet me for some time and the next thing I knew, we were shooting for the film. The first two installments of the franchise did really well, so I was excited. I believe I’m very blessed because Hari sir was kind enough to let me do whatever I wanted to do as a performer. Suriya sir is a brand down South and working with him was a great experience. He believed in me and we instantly hit it off really well. He is one of the most professional co-stars I have ever met.

Were there any challenges while shooting for the film?

The whole challenge was to do the film in Tamil as I wanted to give my own voice to my character. I used to prepare for five-seven hours every day, to get a hold on the language. The shooting of the climax was also a great experience. We shot for seven days for the climax fight scene.

Now that the film is premiering on Zee Cinema, what do you think should the audience expect?

The viewers who have seen the film have loved it, but there are still many people who haven’t seen the film because of the language barrier. It’s a fabulous thing that the film is premiering on Zee Cinema, so the people who couldn’t watch it in Tamil can now watch the Hindi dub. The audience will love the typical hardcore performance of Singam and my character. It is a very gripping film and is really fast paced, especially in the second half. The film is total entertainment plus raw action.
