Athletics - men's 400m

India's Muhammed Anas and Arokia Rajiv storm into the final. Anas clocks 45.30s, leading the semi-final, while Rajiv comes second with 46.08s.

The final is scheduled for Sunday. 

Athletics - Women's 400m

India's teenage sensation Hima Das clocks 51.00s and qualifies for semi-finals.

Athletics - Men's Shotput

India's Tajinderpal Singh strikes a whopping 20.75m in his fifth attempt which is not only his personal best but also now the ASIAN GAMES RECORD. 

He is still leading the fray and has one attempt left.

Athletics - Men's Shotput

A foul from India's Tejenderpal Singh in his second attempt. But, he is still leading with his best 19.96. He now has three attempts left.

A poor foul from the Indian side, Koreans win a penalty stroke. Their Yurim Lee makes no error here, Korea equalises just a few minutes after India's opener.

India's Tajinderpal Singh Toor in action now. He is leading with 19.96m after 1st attempt. Now 19.15m on the second attempt, still leading.

India vs Korea's first period begins, no breakthroughs yet.

Indian women so far have had two easy wins in the ongoing Asian Games 2018. They now have Korea as their opponents on Saturday. Will Rani Rampal & Co continue their winning momentum?

India's Dutee Chand zooms away after a brilliant start, wins Heat 1 with a timing of 11.38 secs. Qualifies for the semi-final.

India's Sarita Singh finishes fifth (out of 9 competitors), but this is not good enough to go for a medal.

India's 19 yr old Sreeshankar's long jump final is scheduled for Sunday. We hope he bags a gold for India.

India's Sarita Singh manages 60.57 metres in her 4th attempt, stays at the fourth spot. She now has two throws left to make an attempt at bronze.

High Jump - Men's category

Massive jump right off the bat by India's Sreeshankar Murali.He manages a 7.83m on his very first attempt and the teenager qualifies for the Long Jump final.

India's Sarita Singh screams in joy, she knows she betters her previous throw. Her third throw goes as far as 62.03 metres. Currently holds fourth spot.

India's Sarita Romit Singh is in action now. In her first attempt, she manages a 59.90 m throw. She then manages a 59,26 metres on her second attempt. Fails to improve on her first, slips down to 6th after the second round of throws.

Squash

India's squash singles end, 3 top players, 3 bronze medals. Top seed of Asian Games 2018, Saurav Ghoshal, will be upset. He was so aiming to convert his 2014 Incheon's silver to gold here in Jakarta.  He lost to the World no 21 Au Chun Ming Leo from Hong Kong.

After leading for most of the time, top seed and India's ace player Saurav Ghosal loses 2-3 to Hong Kong's Chun Ming Au. A gold was expected from Saurav, but he, like his women compatriots, settles for a BRONZE.

Another HEARTBREAK for India! 

After leading 20-18 in the decider, Manu Attri and Sumeeth Reddy end up losing 13-21, 21-17, 23-25 to World No. 2 pair Li Junhui and Liu Yuchen of China. One hell of a match this was; just sad it was not on any of the two TV courts. 

Squash - men's singles

Top seed Saurav Ghosal leads Au Chun Ming by two sets to love in their semi-final.

Weightlifting

Iran’s Sohrab Moradi broke weightlifting’s longest standing world record. En route to gold in the men’s 94kg category. Moradi lifted 189 kg in the snatch to better the 188-kg record set in 1999 by Greece’s Akakios Kakiasvilis.

Squash - Women's Singles

Joshna Chinappa loses her semi-final, too. She suffers a 1-3 defeat against Malaysia's Sivasangari.

Earlier, Dipika Pallikal had lost her semi-final in straight games. Both she and Chinappa had the opportunity of becoming the first female squash players to win a gold or silver at the Asian Games.

India's Ashwini Ponnappa and N Sikki Reddy go down battling 21-11 24-22 against World No.3 pair of Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan.

Yet another disappointment for the Indian badminton contingent.

Just like Saina Nehwal earlier, PV Sindhu has stormed into the quarter-finals. She defeats Indonesia's Gregoria Tunjung 21-12 21-15.

Sindhu had a tough first-round match but was clinical on Saturday.

India's Dipika Pallikal loses her semi-final against top seed Nicol David in straight sets, settles for bronze.

Weightlifting

India's Vikas Thakur fails to lift 197 kg in this third and final clean and jerk attempt. No medal possibility for him from here on.

Dipika Pallikal has lost the first game of her semi-final, while PV Sindhu wins the opening game of her Round of 16 match.

It wasn't to be, India's Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty lose 17-21 21-19 17-21 to Korea's Choi S and Kang M.

Meanwhile, Japan's Rikako Ikee has created history! The 18-year-old becomes the first woman to win SIX gold medals at a single edition of the Asian Games.

The Indian men's team defeats Maldives 3-0 to finish second in its group.

India's Muhammed Anas comes first with a timing of 45.63 seconds. He looked like he was jogging at the end, such was his dominance. Impressive stuff, he's through to the semis.

Archery - Men's Recurve Team

Jagdish Choudhary, Atanu Das, and Viswash defeat Vietnam 5-3 to take India through to the quarters, where they will face Korea.

Athletics - Men's High Jump

India's Chethan Balasubramanya has gotten off to a good start. The only Indian in the fray, he clears 2.05m in his first attempt. But the 26-year-old will have to go over 2.20m to qualify for the final automatically.

Shooting - Women's Skeet

Rashmi Rathore and Ganemat  Sekhon have scores of 46 and 50 after two rounds in qualification.

Athletics- Men's High Jump

Chethan Balasubramanya is about to go for his first attempt. He is the only Indian in the competition.

Archery - Women's Recurve Round of 16

The Indian team of Deepika Kumari, Promila Daimari and Ankita Bhakat defeats Mongolia 5-3.

India's Rashmi Rathore is in action at the moment. She stands in third position (with three shooters tied in first place).

The other Indian in the fray, Ganemat Sekhon, is in 10th position at the moment. There are a total of 19 shooters competing.
