‘Journey was fantastic’: Passenger after landing at Pune airport

Domestic flight operations resumed across the country from today (May 25) except in Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal after two months of suspension due to coronavirus-induced lockdown. The first flight from Delhi's IGI airport since resumption of domestic flight operations, landed in Pune. A passenger who has arrived in the city by the flight said, “All passengers were taking precautions. Very few people are travelling right now.” Another passenger added, “The journey was very fantastic and there was no problem in that.”Passengers arrived at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International airport. Maharashtra government has allowed 25 takeoffs and 25 landings every day from Mumbai. The terminal building of Raipur’s Swami Vivekananda Airport was disinfected and sanitized by Central Warehousing Corporation today. All scheduled commercial passenger flights were suspended in India since March 25 when the Central government imposed a lockdown to contain the virus. Following the announcement of domestic flights resumption, the Airports Authority of India on May 21 issued (SOP) for airports as part of preparations for the recommencement of domestic commercial flight operations.
