'PoK would have been in India': Giriraj Singh says 'Nehru did treachery by pulling army back'

The Union Minister has also hit out at Congress leaders P Chidambaram, Ghulam Nabi Azad, other party leaders over their criticism in regard to the abrogation of Article 370.

After BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan, its now Union Minister Giriraj Singh who has slammed former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru for handling the Kashmir issue saying that Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) would have been in India if Nehru had not betrayed the trust by pulling back the army.

The Union Minister has also hit out at Congress leaders P Chidambaram, Ghulam Nabi Azad, other party leaders over their criticism in regard to the abrogation of Article 370.

Slamming the Congress party, Giriraj Singh said that leaders like P Chidambaram only talk of appeasement.

Giriraj's remarks have come after former Home Minister during Congress-led UPA's rule, P Chidambaram after the revocation of Article 370 had said, "If there was a Hindu majority in Kashmir, the BJP wouldn't have touched (article 370). Because of the Islamic majority, the BJP did it, he added.

Praising PM Modi and Amit Shah, Union Minister Giriraj Singh said that the change in the status of Jammu and Kashmir and abrogation of Article 370 is in the favour of the nation.

It is in accordance to 1.2 billion people of this country, it's in accordance to one nation and one law. The change will benefit the Dalit community in Kashmir who have been denied off their rights for so long.

Further speaking on Article 370, Union Minister Giriraj Singh said that it will help those who had migrated from Pakistan. The poor are getting justice.

Lashing out at Chidambaram and Ghulam Nabi Azad, Giriraj Singh said their real faces have been unasked, be it on the issue of triple talaq bill or Article 370.

 

Once again hitting out at former PM Jawaharlal Nehru, Giriraj Singh invoked the Doklam standoff and said they (BJP) is not like him who will say that the Chinese occupied the land because it was not fertile. 

 

Giriraj Singh further said that every single inch of land is Bharat Mata's blood for PM Modi and Amit Shah... for which we will even sacrifice ourselves.

Former home minister and senior Congress leader P Chidambaram had slammed BJP for abolishing Article 370 saying that the people who don't know the 72 years of history did it (abolishing Article 370) with muscle power.

 

"Jammu Kashmir is a part of India. There is no doubt. If there is a doubt, it's for BJP only. The people who don't know the 72 years of history, have done it (370) with muscle power," he said. The Congress leader said that several sections of Article 371 of the constitution also gave special powers to several states.

 

"If there was a Hindu majority in Kashmir, the BJP wouldn't have touched (article 370). Because of the Islamic majority, the BJP did it," Chidambaram said.

 

"I say it's true there were thousands of people gathered against the abolition of 370... tear gas...shooting. All of that is true," Chidambaram added.

 

He had questioned if people of Tamil Nadu will remain silent if the state is changed into Union Territory. "Will Tamil Nadu people be silent if Tamil Nadu State is changed into Union Territory?" he asked.

 

The former Home Minister said he was hurt seven parties from various states supported the scrapping of Article 370. "I was more hurt that seven parties supported it. TMC walked out. She (Mamata Banerjee) speaks powerfully, but here walkout happened," he said.

Meanwhile, senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh also slammed the Centre for abrogating Article 370.

 

Asserting that saving Kashmir is their prime focus, Digvijaya Singh appealed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval to act "thoughtfully" or else "Kashmir will slip out of our hands".

 

"I appeal to Modi ji, Amit Shah ji and Ajit Doval ji to work thoughtfully otherwise Kashmir will slip out of our hands," Digvijaya Singh added.
