From the Indian perspective, apart from the reopening of schools and cinema halls, the Delhi Pollution plan will also kick off from the same day. The Ministry of Home Affairs announced opening up more activities in areas outside containment zones and issued guidelines to this effect. The new rules are based on feedback received from States and UTs, and extensive consultations held with central ministries and departments concerned.

As per the guidelines, cinemas, theatres, and multiplex will be allowed to open from October 15, almost seven months since lockdown was imposed. Auditoriums, however, will be allowed to operate with only 50 percent capacity. Under the SOPs, adequate physical distancing is mandatory while seating – this, in effect, means every alternate seat will have to be kept vacant and marked. Moreover, cinemas will also have to provide provisions for sanitizers and handwashing facilities. The use of the Aarogya Setu app is encouraged, and all cinema-goers will be thermally screened before entry. Only asymptomatic individuals will be allowed to enter.

NSCN (IM), the biggest Naga armed group involved in peace talks for 22 years, has on Wednesday indicated that there was still a deadlock over the contentious issues of a separate flag and constitution. The meeting will be held at the State Banquet Hall, Chief Minister's Residential Complex in the state capital Kohima.
