Pakistan

95/4(13.5 Overs)

Hold on! The umpires are seen strolling on the field. Looks like they are concerned about the weather here. It has started to drizzle a bit and a few umbrellas are out in the stands as well. As things stand, the sky is pretty clear and we should get going for now.

... The Run Chase ...

The quartet of pace bowling of Pakistan was right on the money. Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Mohammad Wasim and Haris Rauf bowled with a lot of fire and accuracy to create immense pressure and then Shadab Khan cashed in. Overall, a clinical performance on the field for Pakistan and now their aim will be to knock down the runs quickly to keep their outside chance of qualification alive.

Right then, the Dutch team was lacklustre with the bat and doesn't have enough runs to defend. Still, they have a good pace attack and would try to make things hard for the opposition. Will it be a stroll in the park for Pakistan? We will find out shortly.

Haris Rauf comes up for a quick interview. The speedster is pleased with their bowling effort and shares that they tried to hit the hard length. Admits that in the last game they were a bit on the fuller side and they had a talk regarding the same. Praises the fans for always supporting them.

A top-drawer bowling show from Pakistan! It was always a strange and, at the same time, a brave decision from the Netherlands to bat first against the pace battery of Pakistan. Soon that decision backfired. The Dutch team only lost one wicket in the Powerplay but at the same time, scored only 19 runs. The pressure to score runs after the field restriction was lifted got the better of them. They tried to attack Shadab Khan but the leggie was smart enough with his variations to pick three wickets

Shadab Khan charges towards the ball and throws it flat towards the keeper. The batters were pushing hard for the second run but Paul van Meekeren could not make it time. Mohammad Wasim to Paul van Meekeren, So close yet so far! Mohammad Wasim almost bags a hat-trick here. An inswinging full delivery, on middle and leg. Paul van Meekeren looks to smack it down the ground but gets beaten on the inside edge. Mohammad Wasim makes a stifled appeal but the umpire is unmoved. They do not opt for the review here.

Who will face the hat-trick ball? It's Paul van Meekeren.

Mohammad Wasim to Tim Pringle, ! Sound of the wood! Mohammad Wasim gets the yorker on the money and celebrates his first wicket. It is an inswinging yorker at 147 kph, full and in the blockhole. The ball goes through to rattle the stumps. Pakistan are on the driving seat here. They will be looking to restrict the Netherlands under 100 here.

Right then, all in readiness now. The Pakistan players get into a huddle before spreading on the field. They are pushed on the brink of elimination and need a morale-boosting win this afternoon. Given the conditions and the resources in the fast bowling department for Pakistan, it's a brave decision from the Dutch team to bat first. Let's see how they fare. Out come Stephan Myburgh and Max O'Dowd. Shaheen Afridi to steam in...

The sun is peeping out and the Perth Stadium is looking ready to host this must-win game for both teams. The crowd has also trooped in large numbers with Pakistan playing now and India due next. The players of the Netherlands and Pakistan have come out and they will line up for the national anthems.
