In 2019, Palak Palak Sidhawani replaced Nidhi Bhanushali in 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' after the latter quit the show to pursue higher studies. Nidhi essayed the role of Sonalika aka Sonu Atmaram Bhide. Recently, after Nidhi's videos in a bikini and another one in hot pants went viral, fans started searching for Palak Sidhwani's photos too. Meanwhile, her glamorous photos which the actess had shared on her Instagram profile went viral.

In an interview with ETimes in December 2020, when Nidhi Bhanushali was asked about Palak Sidhwani’s performance in the show, she said, " I did not watch the show after Palak replaced me. But Palak and I are very good friends. She is a lovely girl and we have hung out a couple of times. I became pally with her when we started meeting at parties as we have a few common friends." When asked if she was curious to see Palak's performance, Nidhi said, "I wasn't insecure. So I haven't. Plus, I have faith in the 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' makers. And also since I know Palak now, I am quite sure they've found a fabulous person."

"My father thought I probably got selected for some job in the production department of Taarak Mehta. I told him that I will be playing the role of Sonu Bhide and Taarak happens to be his favourite show. And till the time he did not watch my first episode he didn't believe that I had actually bagged the part. He felt I was joking. The initial shooting period was like a dream for me," Palak had told ETimes.

"Comparisons are bound to happen and it still happens. Nidhi Bhanushali was playing the character of Sonu before me and she played the role very beautifully and I am not in a position to stop these comparisons. I only look at the positive things and how I would play the role. As individuals we are very different, she did her way and I am doing it the way I would play the role," Palak told Etimes in an exclusive interview in 2020.

Talking about the initial pressure of performing with the stalwarts of the TV industry, mostly seniors who had years of experience, Palak said, "Yes, there was a lot of pressure. It was my first show and I was working with stalwarts of the TV industry. I had never worked in a TV show before this and I did not even know how actors shoot for 12 hours in a day. Luckily I have some really good people on the sets who are very helpful and understanding. My co-stars, my directors, Aai-baba (Sonalika and Mandar) and Dilip Joshi sir. He always motivated me that you are doing great and don't stress about your scenes."
