Karnataka crisis: Congress leader Zameer Ahmad on Tuesday alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had kidnapped their MLAs and is keeping them at gunpoint. Ahmad said that mobile phones of the Congress MLAs have been seized and they are not even allowed to talk to their family members.

"At least four to five people are constantly keeping a watch on them (Congress leader)," the Ahmad said.

The 13-month old Congress-JDS government slumped into crisis following the resignation of 11 MLAs from the membership of the state Assembly last Saturday.

Earlier today, Congress leader Roshan Baig resigned from his membership of state Assembly.

The Congress and DMK has accused the BJP of destabilising an elected government in Karnataka through "poaching" and staged a walkout in Lok Sabha in protest today.

On Wednesday, Karnataka BJP MLAs from the state will hold a protest in front of the Vidhan Soudha demanding immediate resignation of Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy.

Meanwhile, 10 Congress-JD(S) MLAs, in a letter to Mumbai Commissioner of Police on Tuesday night wrote, "We are staying at Hotel Renaissance Powai in Mumbai, we have heard HD Kumaraswamy and DK Shivakumar are going to storm the hotel, we feel threatened. Do not allow them to enter hotel premises".

From Arunachal Pradesh to Karnataka, Governor's side with defectors and help them in coming out of Congress. A dozen MLAs from Karnataka, who flew to Mumbai three days ago after quitting the southern state's Assembly are still camping here, a legislator said.

 

The confirmation by Karnataka Congress MLA BC Patil Tuesday came after speculation that the legislators were holed up near Satara in western Maharashtra.

 

Patil told reporters here that he the other MLAs were still in Mumbai, even as it was announced that Karnataka Congress leader and minister D K Shivakumar would reach Mumbai Wednesday to meet his party's dissident MLAs here. (Photo: Twitter)

Meanwhile, Karnataka Congress leader and minister DK Shivakumar will arrive in Mumbai today to meet dissident MLAs. 

 

However, the rebel MLAs have already written to Mumbai Commissioner of Police not to allow Shivakumar and also Karnataka Chief Minister Kumaraswamy inside Mumbai's Hotel Renaissance Powai premises as they are threatened the two would storm the hotel.
