Delhi riots: Key points in charge sheet filed under UAPA by police against 'rioters'

The Delhi Police have named 15 people as accused in the charge sheet filed over the violence that took place in national capital in February this year. The over 20,000 pages charge sheet not only has names of all those who made provocative statements during the protest against the National Citizenship Law which began in the month of December, but all the accused had also plotted the Delhi riots in February, which had left 50 dead and several injured.

The charge sheet was filed in the court of Additional Sessions Judge Abitabh Rawat in Karkardooma Court. The 15 people named in the charge sheet has been accused under sections of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, IPC and Arms Act.

The charge sheet in Delhi riots case filed on Wednesday does not have the names of Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam as accused as they were arrested a few days ago. So, their names will be in the supplementary charge sheet.

1- Tahir Hussain 2- Muhammad Parvez Ahmed 3- Muhammad Ilyas 4- Saifi Khalid 5- Ishrat Jahan 6- Miran Haider 7- Safoora Jargar 8- Asif Iqbal Tanha 9- Shadab Ahmed 10- Natasha Narwal 11- Devangana Kalita 12- Taslim Ahmed 13- Salim Malik 14- Muhammad Salim Khan 15- Athar Khan

Earlier on Monday, Delhi's Karkardooma court granted 10-day custody of former Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student Umar Khalid to the Special Cell of Delhi Police, which reportedly said that it wants to confront Khalid with over 11 lakh pages of documents in connection with Delhi riots.
