West Indies continued their A-Game in the first Test match against England as Ben Stokes-led side ended day three trailing by 99 runs on Friday (July 10).

Resuming Windies' first innings from 57/1 on day two, batsmen Kraigg Brathwaite and Shai Hope provided their side with a calm start and kept the scoreboard running at a decent pace.

The duo formed a 59-run stand before pacer Dom Bess took the first wicket of the day and dismissed Hope (16). Brathwaite completed his half-century and started playing aggressively and struck three boundaries to Stokes in an over.

However, in the same over, England skipper made a comeback and sent Brathwaite (65) back to the dressing room. Shamarh Brooks and Roston Chase then took the field but failed to formulate a partnership as the former away his wicket after scoring 39 runs.

It was Shane Dowrich and Chase's partnership which then provided West Indies with some much-needed momentum. Both of them formed a partnership of 81 runs.

Chase, just three runs away from his 50, was given LBW off James Anderson's delivery.

However, Dowrich went on to score his half-century and scored 61 runs before Stokes struck again fro the hosts. After that, England bowlers did not allow the tourist batsmen to settle in and restricted them on 318 runs.

Stokes bagged four wickets while Anderson and Bess took three and two wickets respectively.

Dom Sibley and Rory Burns then began England's second innings. England will resume their second innings from 15/0 on day three.
