Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) Ethics Officer on Tuesday (6 August) issued a Conflict of Interest notice to Rahul Dravid.

A Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association member Sanjay Gupta filed a complaint against the former Indian cricketer, a BCCI source confirmed.

Dravid has been given two weeks to reply on the allegations levelled against him.

"BCCI Ethics Officer Justice DK Jain has sent a notice to Rahul Dravid last week after receiving a complaint. He has been given two weeks to reply over Conflict of Interest," a BCCI source told ANI.

As per the complaint, Dravid is conflicted as he is the current NCA head and is also employed as the vice-president of India Cements group, which owns Indian Premier League franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Seeing the legendary batsman getting the notice, former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly slams BCCI over the charges.

Ganguly slammed BCCI for now issuing Dravid with the Conflict of Interest notice. He took to Twitter and wrote, "New fashion in Indian cricket .....conflict of interest...Best way to remain in news ...god help Indian cricket ......Dravid Gets Conflict of Interest Notice from BCCI Ethics Officer".

Earlier, Ganguly along with Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman were also issued with the same notice.

Harbhajan Singh too came out in support of Ganguly and was not pleased with how the legendary cricketers were being treated.

He replied to Ganguly's tweet and said, "Really ?? Don’t know where it’s heading to.. u can’t get a better person than him for Indian cricket. Sending notice to these legends is like insulting them.. cricket needs their services for betterment.. yes god save Indian cricket".

Three West Bengal based cricket fans, Ranjit Seal, Abhijeet Mukherjee and Bhaswati Shantua in separate communications to Justice (Retd) DK Jain had questioned Ganguly's role as an advisor of Delhi Capitals when he still is the president of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB).

However, Sourav Ganguly replied to BCCI ombudsman clarifying that there is no "conflict of interest" in his dual role as alleged by three cricket fans.

'No conflict of interest,' says Sourav Ganguly to BCCI ombudsman on his dual role

"In my respectful submission there is no direct or indirect interest, compromising roles, commercial conflict, prior relationship or position of influence within the meaning of the BCCI Constitution which may deter my involvement with the Delhi Capitals," wrote Ganguly as per excerpts of the letter available with PTI.

"At present, I do not hold any post whatsoever or howsoever in the BCCI. I am neither a member of the Apex Council of the BCCI nor an office-bearer nor a member of any of the Cricket Committees constituted by the BCCI under its Constitution," Ganguly wrote.

Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman were also served notices by BCCI's Ombudsman-cum-Ethics Officer DK Jain for their alleged 'conflict of interest' by serving as mentors of IPL franchise as well as a member of Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC).

Tendulkar is Mumbai Indians' mentor and Laxman is in the same capacity for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

This was the third case of conflict of interest allegation being filed after former skipper Sourav Ganguly had to appear before Justice (retd.) Jain for deposition for his triple role as CAB president, CAC member as well as advisor of Delhi Capitals.

All three were part of CAC that picked the senior national coach Ravi Shastri in July 2017, which was their last meeting.

However, Tendulkar and Laxman made lengthy depositions before DK Jain on their case.

Tendulkar had rejected any case of Conflict as he does voluntary work with the Mumbai Indians. Laxman also denied having any Conflict but had offered to step down from CAC if proved otherwise.
