Obituaries of the terrorist, said to be responsible for deaths of thousands of people, appeared on all publications' websites. But the one by Washington Post create quite a furore on social media.

US President Donald Trump on Sunday confirmed the death of Islamic State chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, hours after the media in the country had reported the US military raid on the dreaded terrorist leader. 

On Saturday evening, a tweet by Trump - "Something very big has just happened!" triggered speculation worldwide but soon reported emerged that Baghdadi was killed in a US military raid in Syria. 

Later, Trump confirmed that Baghdadi blew his suicide vest after being cornered by US forces.

The US media extensively reported the incident with obituaries of the terrorist, said to be responsible for deaths of thousands of people, appearing on all publications' websites. 

However, one report stood out for its headline. The headline - "Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, austere religious scholar at helm of Islamic State, dies at 48" - by Washington Post create furore on social media. Social media accused WaPo of sanitising the headline of Baghdadi‘s death and mocked it for creating such a headline. 

Even after the publication changed its headline on the website, the Twitter users found a unique to mock the US publication.
