We at DNA spoke exclusively with Rubina to know about her journey, how she rediscovered herself and her relationship with husband Abhinav and more.
On February 21, television actor Rubina Dilaik was announced as the winner of the controversial reality show 'Bigg Boss 14', hosted by superstar Salman Khan.
Rubina was the only contestant who managed to make it to the finale after having entered the house on the night of the show's premiere in October 2020.
There's no denying that she was indeed one of the strongest contestants in the house. Right from the beginning where she refused to accept the task which had conditions that she has to stay with one set of clothes for a week citing hygiene issues, unapologetically pointing out how superstar-host Salman Khan addressed her husband Abhinav Shukla as 'saaman', revealing to the superstar on 'Weekend Ka Vaar' that she had suicidal tendencies, to unabashedly expressing how she thought host Salman favoured former contestant Eijaz Khan are just a few of the many instances where Rubina showcased her straightforward and opinionated side throughout the show without an iota of hesitation that she might be judged.
A while we saw the many facets of a strong Rubina when she got into ugly fights with fellow housemates Rahul Vaidya, Jasmin Bhasin and Sonali Phogat, she also did not hold back in showing her vulnerable side to the audience when she broke down following an incident involving contestant Kavita Kaushik and her husband Abhinav or when she thought she was let down by him on the show.
One can say that Rubina's journey in the Bigg Boss 14 house was incredible and that she truly deserved to win.
So, after her stint inside the house and returning to the "real world" with the trophy, we at DNA spoke exclusively with Rubina to know about her journey, how she rediscovered herself and her relationship with her husband Abhinav and more.

1. Rubina Dilaik on winning Bigg Boss 14

"I wasn't expecting to win because Rahul (Vaidya) had come back and there were a lot of feedbacks about how popular he had become, he is a rage outside and hence he was brought back into the show and how Aly (Goni) had a strong social media presence. There was a lot of feedback that was given with respect to the other contestants and I had no idea whether people were loving my journey or not. But, I was just honest to myself and the way I was living in the house. So, I just thought if I make it to the finale, that should be an achievement. To be the winner, I hadn't even thought I could do it," Rubina told DNA when asked about her surprised look when she was declared the winner of Bigg Boss 14.

On ebing asked if she thought host Salman Khan was a little harsh with his feedbacks on the 'Weekend Ka Vaar' episodes, Rubina told DNA, "I was very sure that in the journey of Bigg Boss house, Salman sir's feedback is what is going to make me even stronger. So, I took everything in a positive stride and I can say that his feedback was the crucial contribution to my journey towards success."

On being asked who did she think deserved to be in the top two, if it had not been for her and Rahul Vaidya, Rubina Dilaik averred, "Aly and Abhinav. I genuinely find Aly as a good man. Abhinav, of course, the more I say the less it is. The kind of dignity and integrity he holds himself with. The kind of strong-headed individual he is, he (Abhinav) definitely deserved to be in the top 2." She added, "On the other side, the way Aly would make honest connections and the way he has zestfully lived his journey in the house, are some reasons why I take his name. So, if not for me and Rahul, I would have liked to see Aly and Abhinav in the top 2."

On being asked what did she think of Rhaul Vaidya bieng in the top 2 and whether her deserved it or not, Rubina Dilaik told DNA, "I cannot comment on that because ultimately we reach to a certain level in the game because of the audience and their love. Whether he deserved or not is in the hands of the audience. I would not be able to comment on it."

On being asked what is that one thing that she rediscovered about herself as an individual, Rubina Dilaik said, "That I have a great scope of evolving as a human being."
6. Rubina Dilaik reveals the most challenging part about her journey in the Bigg Boss 14 house

"To live through the false accusations that were thrown at me every now and then like she is dominating, has superiority complex, she is arrogant. There were quite a many things, accusations which were baseless but then to find my way through such accusations and still remaining steadfast and undaunted was quite a challenge," Rubina told DNA when asked about the most challening part about her journey in the Bigg Boss 14 house.

When asked what her equation with co-contestants Rahul Vaidya and Jasmin Bhasin were like post the show ended, Rubina told DNA, "I have given a clean slate to the relationships that went sour by the end of the show. So, from my end whenever they would want to connect, rebuild, re-connect, I will be more than happy to do so.
On being asked if she was also talking about Rakhi Sawant with whom her relations turned sour becasue of an incodent involving her husband Abhinvan Shukla, Rubina said, "Absolutely. It is for ever single contestant with whom I have had a bad ending on the show, in the house. I have no grudged against her. What happens in Bigg Boss house, I have left it there. Life is too short to have grudges and regrets."
8. Rubina Dilaik on what she rediscovered about her relationship with Abhinav Shukla

"That our commnication skills were not at par when it came to salvaging a relationship. Things are certainly moving in a better directions because we have improved on our communication skills when it comes to understanding and letting the other person kow what we are feeling in a relationship," Rubina said when asked what was that one thing that she rediscovered about her relationship with husband Abhinav Shukla.

On being asked what her plans of tying the knot yet again with husband Abhinav Shukla were after his swee proposal on the Bigg Boss 14 show, Rubina said, "We are yet to discuss to discuss that but definitely pans are just around the corner."
