Hollywood actors who made their digital debut on OTT platforms in 2020

Avengers fame Chris Evans made his digital debut on Apple TV+ with Defending Jacob, based on William Landay’s 2012 novel by the same name. The actor, who essayed the role of Andy Barber, a Massachusetts assistant district attorney whose 14-year-old son Jacob -- Jaeden Martell -- is accused of killing a fellow classmate.

While Barber believes his son is innocent, he finds himself at crossroads when he has to uphold his sworn duty to the law or protect his son.

An American action-thriller released on Netflix, also featuring Hindi film actor Randeep Hooda, the web film marked the digital debut of Chris Hemsworth earlier this year.

Based on the acclaimed graphic novel by Greg Rucka and directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, The Old Guards, marks the digital debut of actor Charlize Theron as a warrior Andy, who leads a covert group of tight-knit mercenaries who are old-century immortals -- a fact not revealed and one which they must protect to maintain their freedom. 

An American web television drama, created by David Weil, marks Al Pacino's first-ever TV series lead role. As Meyer Offerman, a Polish-Jewish philanthropist and Holocaust survivor, Pacino recruits and leads the Hunters. 

Written and directed by Derek Cianfrance, starring Mark Ruffalo as Dominick Birdsey, the American drama miniseries is based on the bestselling novel by Wally Lamb.

The television miniseries, which marked Mark Ruffalo's debut on digital platform Disney+Hotstar Premium, follows the parallel lives of identical twin brothers Dominick and Thomas Birdsey in a story of betrayal, sacrifice and forgiveness.
