Day 1 of the Adelaide Test comes to an end. Australia will be happy as India post 233/6. Kohli opted to bat with a bit of cloud cover and Shaw was sent back on the second ball of the game to Starc.

Rahane was given Lbw and he just walks off. Vihari runs to him and asks him to review. While only bat can save him, the fact that he walked off suggests he didn't hit it. Bad call from Rahane, and that lead to Kohli's dismissal. Rahane pushes the delivery to the left of mid-off and starts to run. Kohli sees him and runs immediately. Kohli goes for 74 (180). Hanuma Vihari, the right-handed bat, comes to the crease. India are 188/4

Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane are battling out the night conditions very well here. Starc, Hazlewood and Cummins are all getting some assistance from the wicket and Virat Kohli is hanging in there as he moves to 62. India are 148/3

FIFTY for Virat Kohli! Boy, does he love Adelaide or what? Superb knock from the captain and he is putting India in a good position. Ajinkya Rahane has also started well. India 125/3.

WICKET! Massive moment for Australia and they opt for the review. It was initially not given but replays and hot spot showed that there was a massive inside edge. Cheteshwar Pujara falls for 43 and India are 100/3.

Cheteshwar Pujara did not hit a single boundary for 148 balls but now he hits two consecutive off Nathan Lyon. The fifty-run partnership is up between Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara and Australia are now slightly under the pump. After 49 overs, India are 98/2.

Virat Kohli hits his first boundary and the Indian cricket team is targeting Nathan Lyon and negotiating well with the pacers. India have made a far more confident start in the second session as compared to the first. After 34 overs, India are 64/2.

Welcome back for the second session. This is the most crucial period fo the Test match. The twilight period will set in by the next one hour to 90 minutes and that will be the time when the Pink Ball will show it's true colours. Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara continue to grind the Australian bowlers. After 30 overs, India are 51/2 with still only two boundaries scored.

Cheteshwar Pujara and Mayank Agarwal are making slow progress as the Australian bowlers get some swing and purchase with the new Pink Ball. Pujara is once again following the old method where he will grind the Australian bowlers down with his defence. India are 7/1 in the sixth over.
