Afghanistan will be very disappointed with how this innings panned out. They had a really good chance to keep New Zealand near 250 but poor death bowling and dropping around 4 catches have cost them. Afghanistan failed to even grab some sitters. The likes of Tom Latham,  Will Young and Glenn Phillips made the most of it. All three scored fifty-plus and pushed New Zealand over 280. New Zealand build their innings well. Even they could have scored more but twice in the innings lost wickets

New Zealand will be very pleased with where they've got to! At one stage they were struggling when they were 4 down for around 120 but them came the stand which changed the tide. A stunning partnership between Latham and Glenn Phillips. The two tool their time, got used to the pitch of the surface and accelerated towards the end.
