SBI customers ALERT! These account holders have to submit Aadhaar-PAN card - Are you one of them?

SBI has answered what will happen to the account holders who did not complete their KYC yet. Earlier, SBI had asked its customers to get KYC done.

India's largest lender State Bank of India (SBI) had issued a notification asking all its customers to get their KYC done before May 30, however, there are still many who did not complete it before the deadline.

Now, SBI has answered what will happen to the account holders who did not complete their KYC yet. Issuing a notification, SBI had given time till May 30.

Now, who knowingly or unknowingly did not get their account KYC, will their accounts be suspended? Will they now have to submit the documents again? SBI has answered all these questions from its official Twitter handle. 

What happens if your SBI account gets suspended? 

Once your SBI account is suspended, all the money deposited in your account will be frozen. You will stop receiving your government subsidy as well. Apart from this, whatever government facility you are getting directly in the bank account, will not be available further. After the account is suspended, you will neither be able to withdraw nor deposit money from your account. This is the reason why people are now rushing to get KYC done or mailing them to the bank.

Are documents to be submitted by all customers? 

Tagging SBI, a customer asked on Twitter why the bank is doing KYC again? Will everyone have to submit documents again? Replying to them, SBI said, "As per RBI rules, these documents are being asked for linking the account with the user’s Aadhaar and PAN card. If the Aadhaar card and PAN are already linked with your bank account, then there is no need to submit the documents again.

How to know whether your Aadhaar is linked with the bank or not?

To link Aadhaar with the bank or any other place, first of all, you should check whether your Aadhaar card is linked with the bank or not. For this, first, go to the official website uidai.gov.in. After this, click on 'Check Aadhaar/Bank Account Linking Statu'’ in the 'My Aadhaar' tab. After that enter your 12 digit Aadhaar number. Then enter the security code and click on 'Send OTP'. After this, you will get an OTP on your registered number, through which you can log in. Then you will know whether your bank account is linked with an Aadhaar card or not.
