Days after taking an allegedly 'fake' vaccine shot at an inoculation drive in Kolkata, Trinamool Congress MP Mimi Chakraborty has reportedly taken ill. Along with several other people, the actor-turned-politician got vaccinated with the first shot four days ago at a 'free' inoculation camp in the Kasba area of Kolkata.

Mimi Chakraborty has been unwell since Friday night with severe dehydration, low blood pressure, and abdominal pain and is being treated at home. The doctors have, meanwhile, said that her illness could be panic-induced.

According to media reports, Mimi Chakraborty suddenly started to feel under the weather on Friday evening. Soon she fell unconscious after a round of profuse sweating, following which she was given medical help.

Earlier, the Parliamentarian had taken to her social media handle to assure people that the vaccines, albeit fake, were not harmful. Chakraborty informed that the vials being used at the camp have been sent to the lab for testing and results are expected in the next 4-5 days.

It has been reported that the Trinamool MP had some previous medical conditions. However, it is yet to be proved whether the shot she took four days ago triggered any adverse side effects.

Mimi Chakraborty was an invitee at a COVID-19 vaccination camp held at Kasba on Tuesday and chose to take her first shot there. However, she grew suspicious when she didn't receive a confirmatory SMS after her shot.

The man who posed as an IAS officer was arrested by the Kolkata police for running this fake vaccination camp in the Kasba area. The accused, identified as Debanjan Deb, was arrested after Chakraborty filed a complaint against him. The Kolkata Police on Friday constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the fake vaccination drive.

The police on Thursday seized all the materials from the vaccination camp and have sent the samples for forensic examination. The police have also found fake labels of Covishield at Deb's office.
