In view of the COVID-19 situation in the country, the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) cancelled the Class 10 and Class 12 exams. Though the Uttar Pradesh Government is yet to announce the evaluation criteria to assess the students of the cancelled board exams, the formula to promote children is almost fixed.

While announcing the evaluation criteria of UP Board exams, the board might announce that Class 10 and Class 12 students will get an option to either write the exams later when the situation arising out of COVID-19 improves.

The state government had cancelled Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) Class 12 board exams in view of the COVID-19 situation on June 3. The decision came after a meeting which was chaired by UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in this regard.

    Evaluation process

Sources revealed that the committee has already come up with criteria to promote 56 lakh students of UP Board Class 10, 12.

The high-level committee of the UP Board has decided that for Class 10, 50% of the marks obtained in class 9 and 50% of the marks obtained in class 10 pre-boards will be taken into consideration.

For Class 12 marking, 50% of the class 10 result, 40% of the Class 11th result and 10% of the Class 12 pre-board result will be taken into consideration.

The draft of the formula developed by the committee will be submitted to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on June 20 for approval.

Given that UPMSP has cancelled Class 10 and Class 12 exams, the admission process for Class 11 and undergraduate programmes will likely begin shortly.
