Uttar Pradesh school reopening news: Yogi government fixes THIS date to reopen schools - check details

The Uttar Pradesh Government on Tuesday ordered schools to reopen for classes 1 to 8 from July 1 as COVID-19 are now declining. The decision is only for the schools affiliated to the UP Board. However, schools would only be opened for teachers and staff for administrative work. No student will be allowed to come till further orders. The UP government has continued to ban physical teaching work in schools. No decision has been taken for students of classes 9 to 12. 

For CBSE and CISCE schools in the state, the school management committee (SMC) will take a decision. SMC can only take a decision on whether to call teachers and administrative staff to the school campus from July 1 or not.

As per the order issued by Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Department (UPBEB) Secretary  Pratap Singh Baghel, the teachers would complete the work related to student enrolment, distribution of food security allowance as per for mid-day meal scheme as well as distributing the free books to the students. Schools will be opened to conduct admissions for the new academic session and maintenance. Teachers have been asked to conduct online classes from schools. 

Also, the Basic Shiksha Parishad has decided to deposit sanctioned money for mid-day meals directly in the account of students or their parents, so that students do not miss out on nutrition due to school closure.

Neighbouring states Delhi and Haryana have not taken such a decision so far. The Haryana Government has extended the summer vacation till June 30, while the Delhi Government ordered schools to remain closed till further orders.
