In a good news for lakhs of engineering entrance exams candidates, the National Testing Agency (NTA) would announce the new schedule for JEE Main 2021 April and May Exams by June 30. Once released, the students will be able to download the full schedule from jeemain.nta.nic.in.

According to sources, the NTA will review the COVID-19 situation before announcing the date for JEE Main 2021 entrance exams. Though the NTA is yet to make any official announcement in this regard, it is expected that both April and May sessions would be held between a gap of 20 to 25 days.

Since the COVID-19 situation in the country is now coming under control, experts are of the view that it would be prudent to conduct JEE Main 2021 entrance exams in the third week of July or the second week of August.

It may be recalled that the Centre had postponed both April and May exams of JEE-Main 2021 entrance exams due to rising coronavirus cases.

Announcing the decision, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank had said, “Looking at the present situation of COVID 19 & keeping students’ safety in mind, JEE (Main) – May 2021 session has been postponed. Students are advised to keep visiting the official website of NTA for further updates.”

While the JEE (Main) – 2021 April Session was scheduled for April 27, 28, and 30, the May session was scheduled to be held on 24, 25, 26, 27, 28 May 2021. In 2020 also, the JEE Main exam was deferred due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The JEE Main 2020 was later held from September 1-6, followed by JEE Advanced 2020 on September 27.

Meanwhile, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has also drawn a complete blueprint for the NEET 2021. The NEET 2021 exams - earlier scheduled to be held in early August -  could be held in the last week of August or in the first week of September. The entire examination is in pen-paper mode.

Meanwhile, a high-level committee of the Madras High Court would be analysing the impact of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) on aspirants from the socially disadvantaged sections in medical admissions, the Tamil Nadu government said.
