In an important development, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said students would not be called to schools anytime soon keeping in mind their health and safety amid the COVID-19 pandemic. He also said that Delhi schools will remain closed till the situation is conducive.

As of now, Delhi schools are following the pattern of online teaching. The offline mode of classes will resume as soon as the situation is conducive. “The students will not be called to schools anytime soon, keeping in mind their health and safety,” said Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.

Sisodia visited government schools and inspected the construction work of 172 new classrooms on Monday (June 22). The Delhi government is constructing new classrooms and schools buildings keeping in mind the psyche of children. Deputy Chief Minister further assured that the new and improved classrooms would be done at a fast pace. When students end up returning back to school, they would be welcomed with fresh and colourful classrooms.

Meanwhile, NEET 2021 is scheduled to be conducted on August 1. However, with only 40 days remaining, the National Testing Agency (NTA) is yet to release the application forms. There's also no official update on the two postponed sessions of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main and the postponed JEE Advanced exam.

This has led to speculations that the engineering entrance examination JEE Main 2021 and the medical entrance test NEET 2021 might be postponed.

Students, seeking admission to top medical and engineering institutes of the country, are asking on social media when the government will make announcements on these exams.

According to a PTI report, the officials at Education Ministry are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation across the country and it is likely that the JEE Main 2021 and NEET 2021 entrance exam would be held on August 1.
