The CBSE had constituted a 13-member committee on June 4 to decide the marking scheme for CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021.
On June 1, Prime Minister announced the cancellation of CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 due to prevailing COVID-19 situation in the country and since then lakhs of CBSE Class 12 students across the country are waiting eagely for the release of the evaluation criteria of CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021.
The CBSE had constituted a 13-member committee on June 4 to decide the marking scheme for CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021. The committee was directed to submit the report within 10 days. As per the deadline given by the CBSE, the 13-member panel was supposed to submit its report by June 14 but it seems that CBSE Class 12 students will have to wait for few more days as several reports suggest that the marking criteria for CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 results would not be released by the CBSE on Monday (June 14).
According to reports, the Class 12 Evaluation Criteria for CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 would be released by June 16-17. Once released, Class 12 stuents will be able to check the detailed tabulation policy for Class 12 marking criteria on the official website cbse.gov.in. The board has also informed the Supreme Court that the decision would be uploaded on June 16, reported a leading portal.
It is learnt that the 13-member panel is in favor of assessing class 12 students on the basis of their final exam scores from Class X and XI, and internal marks from Class XII. The panel has received suggestions from principals of various CBSE affiliated schools across the country on how to finalise the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 results.
Some reports claimed that many CBSE officials are considering giving grades to Class 12 students instead of marks. “A large number of principals have suggested that the students be awarded grades on the basis of their marks from past exams”, a board official was quoted as saying by India.com.
Earlier the CBSE used to implement a “continuous and comprehensive evaluation” policy in order to award grades —- A1, A, B1, B, C1, C, D and E — to its Class X students. But the grading system was discontinued by CBSE with the passage of time. “Since the board exams are not being held and the results are to be announced on the basis of the student’s past performance, it would not be fair to award exact marks,” Telegraph quoted an official as saying.
