The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the much-awaited schedule of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. However, it has released the list of the first 17 days of the IPL 2024. The roster for remaining matches to be announced once dates for general elections are finalised. MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will meet Virat Kohli-starrer Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL 2024 opener at the Chepauk on March 22. The two teams have played out some exciting matches over the past 16 editions of the league. The two sides met each other 31 times in the history of IPL. CSK dominated the fixtures with 20 victories, while RCB have won 10 games with one game ending with no result.
CSK and RCB last played against each other in Match No. 24 of IPL 2023 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. In the match, Super Kings defeated the Royal Challengers by a margin of 8 runs in a high-scoring thriller.
