Optical Illusions and quizzes are always fun. Recently social media was flooded with a picture asking users to identify wheather it's a neck or back. Now, a optical illusion released by researchers at Caltech in California, USA, have left netizens confused.

Called 'The Rabbit Illusion', it asks viewers to look at a cross on the top of the screen. While looking at it, they hear a few beep sounds along with some flashes on the bottom of the screen. Users have to identify the number of flashes they see, without taking their eyes off the cross.

According to a report in Insider, majority of people see three flashes when the beep sound is heard. However, there are only two flashes. The illusion makes use of the beep sound to trick your eyes into thinking that there are three flashes.

Here's the video, give it a try...

While most people see three flashes when the sound is playing, there are actually only two. The trick is in the sound. Since there were three ticking sounds, your mind creates a third flash to match, which is called an "illusory flash."

The illusion has been viewed over 3.5 lakh times on YouTube and has collected a ton of comments and reactions on social media.
