Late Sushant Singh Rajput starrer television serial 'Pavitra Rishta' which ran for almost 1500 episodes back in the day, still continues to be one of the most loved shows on the small screen. It was with this show that both Sushant and Ankita Lokhade who essayed the role of Manav and Archana, respectively, shot to fame and became household names. The couple love story also began during the shoot of the serial which ended with the two splitting up in 2016. 

As for Sushant Singh Rajput's character, he played the character of Manav, a car mechanic, who falls in love with Ankita aka Archana.  However, it was in 2012 that Sushant decided to quit the show and later established his career as an actor in the Hindi film industry. Actor Hiten Tejwani took over Sushant's role for 3 years before the show finally went off air in 2014.

Now, as per a report in Pinkvilla, a 2.0 version of 'Pavitra Rishta' is in the making. While the report states that the concept of the show is 'locked'  producer Ekta Kapoor has almost finalised the cast too. A source was quoted telling the portal, "Shaheer Sheikh has come on board Pavitra Rishta 2.0 to portray the iconic character of Manav. Ankita will be back to play Archana again after 7 long years. The other cast members will be locked soon." 

As per the report, it will be a tribute by Ekta and Ankita to Sushant's legacy. The show will premiere on an OTT platform.

On a related note, June 14 marked the first death anniversary of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput who was found hanging in his Bandra home in Mumbai. 

Ankita Lokhande, Rhea Chakraborty and other film and television industry members took to social media to remember the actor on the tragic day that he left for his heavenly abode.
