Reportedly, the minor girl has alleged that Pear V Puri had taken sexual favours from her by promising her a career in TV serials.
The Indian television industry was taken by storm days ago when actor couple Nisha Rawal and Karan Mehra came out in public about their soured relationship. Karan Mehra was arrested on charges of domestic violence upon Nisha's complaint and later granted bail. However, a case has been filed against the 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata hai' star and an investigation is underway.
Now, it has come to light that another television actor, Pearl V Puri of 'Naagin 3 fame, has been arrested.
As per a report in India Today, the 'Phir Bhi Na Maane...Badtameez Dil' actor has been arrested on an alleged rape and molestation case.
The actor, who was last seen on 'Brahmarakshas 2', has been accused of raping a minor girl along with five other persons. According to a Hindustan Times report, Pearl and five others were arrested in Vasai in connection with the rape of a minor.
Sanjay Patil, DCP Zone 2, Mira Bhayander Vasai Virar, said tod HT, "The incident is old but the 17 year old minor victim complained to us along with her mother at the police station and we registered case under Section 376 (rape) of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act(POCSO) Act, 2012." Patil added that Pearl is remanded in police custody by Vasai court.

Meanwhile, as soon as the news broke, Pearl's Naagin 3 co-star Anita Hassanandani spoke in his support. Sharing a photo with him on Instagram, she wrote, "Woke up to some nonsensical news bout @pearlvpuri I know him! It is NOT true ... canNOT be true.... all lies. I’m sure there is more to it. And the truth will be out soon. Love you @pearlvpuri #ISTANDWITHPEARL."
Pearl V Puri made his acting debut in 2013 with Dil Ki Nazar Se Khoobsurat and has since featured in several TV shows.
