'Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon' actor Sangeeta Srivastava dies after long battle with auto-immune disease

The year 2020 has been a difficult one for everyone with coronavirus pandemic that gripped the world. It has also been a year of great loss for the entertainment industry with so many artists leaving us for their heavenly abode. 

Actress Sangeeta Srivastava popular for her character in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon passed away on August 25 at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. Apart from Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon. Sangeeta has also worked in shows such as Bhanwar, and Thapki...Pyaar Ki. 

Reports state that the actresses' age was not mentioned, however, seems like Sangeeta Srivastava was suffering from an auto-immune disease called vasculitis which was also reportedly the cause of her death. There has been no statement from the actress's family so far. 

For the uninformed, Vasculitis is an inflammation of the blood vessels. In the illness, the body's immune system attacks the blood vessels. The cause cannot be ascertained on most occasions. Fans will surely always remember her from the show, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon that starred Sanaya Irani and Barun Sobti in lead roles. 

Apart from Sangeeta, over the past few months, several TV actors bid adieu with some dying from suicide. Actor Sameer Sharma who played the role of Shaurya Maheshwari in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai was found hanging at his Malad residence last month. It seems he was battling depression for a long time now. 

Apart from him, Manmeet Grewal, Preksha Mehta, and Anupama Pathak also ended their lives by suicide. On the other hand, actor Divya Chouksey died battling cancer. We extend our condolences to all the near and dear ones of Sangeeta and wish them the strength to battle these tough times.
