TV’s hit show, ‘Anupamaa’ has been making headlines for quite some time now, and it’s not due to its high TRP ratings. Recently there has been some buzz that makers of the show will introduce a new male lead who will play Anupamaa’s (Rupali Ganguly) love interest. There were also rumours that Vanraj, played by Sudhanshu Pandey will leave the show.

The show’s producer, Rajan Shahi, has now clarified all rumours and has also confirmed the addition of a ‘very important character’. While speaking to India Today, Shahi said, “As far as buzz of new entry is concerned there will be a very important character who will join the cast but his casting hasn't begun.”

While addressing rumours of Sudhanshu Pandey leaving the show, Rajan said, “Sudhanshu Pandey is an integral part of the show and will continue to be our Vanraj.”

Rajan further said that they will make an official announcement once the new character is finalised. He said, “I am grateful to the audiences for showering love to the show Anupamaa and make it a part of daily life. We will continue entertaining the audience. We will make the formal announcement when the new character is finalised.”

Reportedly, several actors including Sharad Kelkar, Arshad Warsi, Ronit Roy, Rajeev Khandelwal, and Vishal Singh have been considered to play Anupamaa’s love interest. However, Sharad Kelkar, Arshad Warsi and Ronit Roy clarified that the rumours are not true.
