Smartphone maker Oppo is planning to unveil a concept smartphone with a rollable display at the company's yearly conference to be held on today, November 17.

Oppo took to the Chinese microblogging website Weibo and teased the new phone. "Big screen? Small screen? Infinite screen? In the future, your mobile phone may be able to retract freely," reads the Weibo post (machine translated), reports Android Authority.

The rollable display would be first for any Oppo smartphone.

The teaser poster does not reveal much in terms of hardware. It largely showcases the design and display aspect of the phone.

The phone is expected to be a prototype or a concept phone like what TCL showed off earlier this year.

The company is also expected to launch the second generation of its Augmented Reality (AR) glasses in the same event.

Going by the teaser, this will just be like the sunglasses you wear and will likely be embedded with a host of sensors. It will also use diffractive optical waveguide technology, support voice interaction and 3D surround sound.

Apart from the AR glasses and the concept smartphone, Oppo also plans to showcase its hybrid zoom periscope during the event. The hybrid lens is capable of offering variable zoom between 3.3x and 5.4x and up to 11x hybrid zoom.

The zoom periscope lens was announced by the company earlier this year.
