Watch: Afghanistan players dancing on ‘Lungi Dance’ after maiden win against Pakistan, video goes viral

After Afghanistan secured their first-ever win against Pakistan in World Cup 2023, there has been some relentless celebration going amongst Afghan team players on field and dressing room. 

As the celebration continues, another video of players dancing on the popular Bollywood song ‘Lungi Dance’ has gone viral on social media. The video captures Rashid Khan along with other teammates dancing in the team's bus.

Afghanistan has also recorded their second upset win in the tournament after beating the defending champions England on 15 october. This win has sparked hope for Afghanistan in the ongoing World Cup campaign. The Hashmatullah Shahidi-led side has now gained two triumphs from the five matches played and they still have a chance to qualify for the semi finals.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has faced their third consecutive loss in the tournament and also has only two win from the same number of matches, but still have chance to make into the semi-finals.

With respect to Afghanistan’s performance in the match, they had to chase the target of 283 runs. The Afghan batters accepted the challenge and in response delivered a stellar performance with half centuries of Rahmanullah Gurbaz (65) and Ibrahim Zadran (87). 

After the fall of first wicket, Rahmat Shah comes in with scoring another half century (77*), followed by Hashmatullah Shahidi's knock of 48 runs. Their duo led the team to an eight-wicket victory (six balls left) against Pakistan at the Chepauk Stadium yesterday.
