Los Angeles Lakers center Andrew Bynum and Phoenix Suns guard Aaron Brooks were suspended by the NBA for separate incidents during recent games, the league said on Sunday.

Bynum, second on the Pacific Division-leading Lakers in rebounds, was suspended two games for driving an elbow into the chest of Minnesota Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley.

Bynum was assessed a flagrant foul on the play and forced to leave Friday's game while Beasley, who landed hard on his left hip, hobbled off the court shortly after the incident and did not return.

The NBA said Brooks was suspended one game for throwing a ball at an official during Friday's game against the Golden State Warriors. Brooks appeared to be angry after not receiving a foul call on his drive to the basket.
