English Premier League season 2021-22: Full fixtures list, derbies and biggest matches

Its official! The 2021-22 Premier League season will kick off in less than 60 days from now. Here’s a lowdown on what’s in store for fans.

Reigning champions Manchester City will take on Tottenham Hotspur in a blockbuster opening fixture to the new Premier League season. Their closest challengers Manchester United will play hosts to historic rivals Leeds United.

The opening day will see two London derbies. Arsenal take on newly promoted Brentford while Chelsea will face Crystal Palace. Looking to bounce back after a disappointing season Liverpool will take up Norwich City who are back at the highest level after winning the Football Championship.

While the last campaign had to be altered due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the new campaign is scheduled to follow the traditional format and run through to May 22, 2022.

Here’s a list of all fixtures on Day 1 i.e., August 14 at :

  • Brentford v Arsenal
  • Burnley v Brighton
  • Chelsea v Crystal Palace
  • Everton v Southampton
  • Leicester City v Wolverhampton
  • Manchester United v Leeds United
  • Newcastle United v West Ham United
  • Norwich City v Liverpool
  • Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester City
  • Watford v Aston Villa

The big games of Premier League season 2021-22

The first big clash of titans is scheduled for August 28 when Chelsea go to Anfield to face Liverpool. The same weekend, Manchester City tough it out with Arsenal.

Arsenal take on Tottenham Hotspur on September 25 in a mouth-watering north London derby. The champions and manager Pep Guardiola travel to Chelsea the same day.

November 6 will see the first Manchester derby as Manchester United welcome City to Old Trafford. United will match up against Arsenal in the same month. In another crucial clash, former champions Liverpool take on defending champions City on October 2.

On Boxing Day, Liverpool face Leeds, City taken on Leicester and Tottenham clash with Crystal Palace in a London Derby.

New Year's Day is another footballing fest as Liverpool and Chelsea faceoff while Arsenal host Manchester City.

The fixtures are subject to change around TV schedules. The pandemic might also come into play.
