Carlin rule out move to F1 next year

    British Formula Three champions Carlin have ruled out a move to Formula One next season.                                           
     
    "While F1 may be a long-term goal for the team, we have not submitted an application for the 2011 season, nor are we in any position to do so," said founder Trevor Carlin in a statement on Friday.                                           
     
    "At the moment we are 100% focused on our current programmes and continue to put all our efforts into winning championships and races in the junior categories."                                            
     
    Carlin lead the British F3 and Formula Renault 3.5 series and also compete in the new GP3 championship.                             

    Formula One's governing body, the International Automobile Federation (FIA), has asked for applications from potential 13th teams with a decision expected next month.
