Residents to meet CM for merger of project to ease their traffic woes

The Cuffe Parade residents in South Mumbai have now demanded that the coastal road project by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) be connected towards World Trade Centre (WTC) from Nariman Point. The residents will soon meet BMC officials and also submit a memorandum to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis demanding merger of the project to ease their traffic woes.
The Cuffe Parade Residents Association (CPRA) have shown a keen interest in the coastal road project demanding that the road which will come towards Nariman Point to Free Press Journal Marg from Kandivli to be connected towards WTC which will be connected further towards the Cuffe Parade Police station. It will ease the traffic which enters and exits Navy Nagar.
"The movement of vehicles is more towards Navy Nagar as compared to its adjoining roads. The existing plan will only lead to more congestion. But if the BMC extends it towards WTC, the traffic congestion will not take place and will also help the residents to directly drive on the coastal road. Moreover, the travelling time will cut down due to coastal road's easy access", said Padmakar Nandekar, Secretary General, CPRA.
"We will conduct a meeting with the residents to discuss more on our suggestions. We will also approach BMC to discuss the plan. We also plan to meet Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis so that he could help us resolve our traffic woes," said Nandekar.
Dr Sanjay Mukherjee, Additional Commissioner, BMC, said, "We welcome the residents to come forward and put their suggestions. We had made the project plan public earlier and had asked for suggestions and complaints. We will discuss the proposal and think over it."
