Members of Aamhi Girgaumkars, a local group of youngsters, highlighted the fact that the bridge can collapse anytime and needs to be repaired immediately
The bridge that connects Charni Road station from Thakurdwar needs urgent repairs and residents have taken to social media to make the public aware of it. Members of Aamhi Girgaumkars, a local group of youngsters, highlighted the fact that the bridge can collapse anytime and needs to be repaired immediately.
Gaurav Sagwekar, of Aamhi Girgaumkar, posted the message as well as pictures to highlight the bridge's poor condition. "I realised that the bridge was in an extremely bad condition, and is regularly used by residents and commuters," said Sagwekar.
According to Sagwekar, the local corporator from BJP Anuradha Poddar and a former Sena corporator, have been following up on the issue but the BMC has failed to initiate action. "We plan on meeting the vibhag pramukh of Shiv Sena, Pandurang Sakpal, and hope that he will help us." Sagwekar said.
SO Kori from the Bridges department from BMC, said, "A survey of bridges are being done, we will assess it and only after that something can be done. If it needs repair we will surely carry out it."
