A 15-year-old girl in Dombivli was allegedly raped inside a temple by an unidentified youth, leading to her being impregnated and admitted in a Mumbai hospital for treatment. The Manpada police are yet to make an arrest in the case as the girl is still in trauma.
The parents of the girl lodged a complaint with the Manpada police after learning that she was pregnant. Later, she revealed that a youth identified only as Anand had allegedly forced himself on her six months ago inside the temple located opposite the victim's residence in Dombivli.
"The minor girl was raped inside the temple, which is hardly frequented by devotees. The parents of the girl learnt about the incident only after she had conceived, as she had not spoken to anyone about the incident till then," said a Manpada police officer.
He added: "The girl has been admitted to KEM hospital because of her pregnancy. She is in trauma and is unable to reveal the identity of the youth. We are waiting for her to recover completely and will soon arrest the accused."
