HMD Global has now confirmed that the Nokia 3, Nokia 4 and Nokia 6 will receive the Android 8.0 Oreo update by the end of the year.
In an interview with GadgetGaul and Nokianesia, HMD’s General Manager for Australia, New Zeland and Indonesia Mark Trundle confirmed that that the Nokia 3, 5 and 6 will be updated to Android Oreo by the end of the year. Additionally, he also stated that the company is working hard to bring Android Oreo to the Nokia 8 as well.
Nokia 3
In terms of specifications, the Nokia 3 sports a 5-inch display, MediaTek MTK 6737 processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage along with a microSD card slot. It includes an 8MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera. Running Android Nougat out-of-the-box, the device includes connectivity features such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB. A 2,650mAh battery completes the package. It will be available in Silver White, Matte Black, Tempered Blue and Copper White color variants.
Nokia 5
The Nokia 5 includes a 5.2-inch display and is powered by a Snapdragon 430 processor paired with 2GB of RAM. It includes an internal storage of 16GB which can be further expanded up to 128GB. It comes equipped with a 13MP rear camera along with an 8MP front-facing camera. Running Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box, the device includes connectivity features such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a USB type C-port. A 3,000mAh battery completes the package.
Nokia 6
The Nokia 6 features a 5.5-inch display, Snapdragon 430 processor paired with 3GB of RAM and an internal storage of 32GB which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. It comes equipped with a 16MP rear camera along with an 8MP front-facing camera. Running Android Nougat out-of-the-box, it is backed up by a 3,000mAh battery. The smartphone was well received after its initial release in the Chinese market and managed to garner 250,000 pre-orders within the first 24 hours.
