The Special Operations Group (SOG)  busted a gang involved in cheating during exams and arrested one person on Wednesday. The arrested accused was carrying the answer key of railway services entrance examination which he had to hand over to a candidate, however, the SOG team nabbed him before he could hand out the answer sheet. 

According to the SOG sleuths, the arrested man has been identified as one Amit Swami. “On 24th October, the SOG received an intel that a cheating gang was trying to field fake candidates in place of real candidates in the railways examination. It was also learnt that an employee of the  company conducting the online examination could have provided answer key to the candidates. Based on the information a team of SOG sleuths was sent to the main campus of Arya Institute of Engineering and Technology where the rooms in which the examination was being held was checked thoroughly,” officials said.

However, in one of the rooms, an invigilator appeared suspicious and was checked by the SOG team. “The invigilator Amit Swami was in room number twenty seven and as he appeared suspicious, he was checked in front of other invigilators. During checking, a white sheet with some answers was recovered from Amit’s pocket. He was asked about the same and the man informed that these were the answers to the examination in which he was invigilating,” officials said.

The SOG sleuths then started questioning him and the man informed that he had been handed the sheet by his friend outside the college. “He informed that the answer sheet had to be handed to a candidate named Uma Shankar.

thus on the report given by the observer of the Railway Recruitment Board - Amritlal Meena - a case has been registered at the SOG and investigation has been initiated,” officials said, further adding, “The first level examination of Railway Recruitment Board is being organized across the nation from 17th October onwards which will continue till december. The man has also named one Ajay Sharma with whom he formed a gang which would provide fake candidates in examinations in place of real candidates,” the officials said
