    During the “Shahari Samriddhi Utsav” being organised under the Deendayal Antyodaya Rashtriya Shahari Ajivika Mission, more than 550 unemployed men and women were provided appointment, loans of 75 beneficiaries were approved along with providing loans to 10 people on the spot. 

    In the fair, food vendors had an income of Rs 5 lakh and self-independent groups earned Rs10 lakh from the products made by them, sources said.

    During the event, the Director and Joint Secretary of the Department of local self government, Pawan Arora, inaugurated the food delivery app for various food vendors “Kalewa” along with “Saarthi” app created by the Ajivika Kendra for different types of household facilities. Speaking on the closing ceremony, Arora said that an awareness rally was organised on February 1 as part of the “Shahari Samriddhi Utsav”. Certain other programmes, including Job Fair, Street Food Festival, Loan Fair and an Exhibition by Women Self-dependent Groups were also organised from February 1 to 6 at Jawahar Kala Kendra. 

    Arora said, close to 50 placement agencies took part in the Job Fair including SBI Credit Card, Axis Bank, Adani Power, Jet Airways and Air Master. Around 550 applicants were provided with job letters on the spot.

    Moreover, many banks including SBI, BOI, OBC, Vijaya and Syndicate Bank took part in the Loan Fair. More than 75 applicants got their loans approved, whereas 10 of them got the loan on the spot. During the Loan Fair, the Assistant General Manager of State-level Bankers Committee Rakesh Sharma was present. Sharma also paid a visit to the exhibition by the women self-independent groups and praised their work. He instructed all the bank General Managers to mark such groups in their area and provide them with loans to support them.
