Minister Otaram Dewasi should resign or face probe over viral audio: Congress

Congress has demanded a forensic investigation of a viral audio in which Gopalan state minister Otaram Dewasi was allegedly found making ‘objectionable’ comments on a woman leader of his own party who holds the post of Zila Pramukh.  

RPCC Vice President Archana Sharma and Rajasthan Pradesh Mahila Congress President Rehana Riaz raised the demand while talking to scribes at the party headquarters on Friday.

“Devasi is making ‘objectionable’ comments in an audio which went viral on social media. What kind of mentality is prevailing within the BJP it is quite evident with remarks of the minister against female leader while referring to two ministers and a district in charge officer. This is clear case of character assassination of a woman by the minister,” says Sharma.

Sharma further demanded the government to order a forensic inquiry into the audio. “It is necessary that the forensic investigation of the audio should be done which would stamp mentality prevailing in the BJP leaders. The statement of the minister against her own party leader who holds public representative office is very shameful in the state which is ruled by a woman. Dewasi should resign from the office and face a probe over the audio,” said Sharma. Riaz also took jibe on Raje government for growing atrocities against the women.

Cong demands
