In an attempt to promote startups, the Vasundhara Raje Government has taken an important initiative for the budding entrepreneurs of the state. The country’s largest Bhamashah Technohub will operate in Jhalana Institutional Area of Jaipur, where around 700 startups will be able to operate simultaneously and seek mentoring and funding at one stop.

Principal secretary Department of Information Technology Akhil Arora said, “This is the country’s first Bhamashah Technohub, after Telangana, where 700 startups will function. Chief minister Vasundhara Raje will inaugurate the hub on August 23.”

It is the biggest technohub of the country and is spread across 1 lakh sq ft and is equipped with five star facilities like high speed internet, meeting or conference rooms, restaurant, gym, auditorium, restroom, personal and shared office space, digital museum and other necessary facilities. The state government has spent Rs 72 crore in the construction the state-of-the-art, eight-floor building of this technohub.

Approximately 700 startups apart from getting space here will also get necessary mentoring and funding for free to run the startups. The government claims that it will be the first such incubation centre in the country where startups will get free facilities for one year under the same roof.

According to the Additional Director of Department of Information Technology and Communication (DoIT) RK Sharma, every startup here will be provided with dedicated mentoring and support. For the same, about 40 mentors have also been recruited. In addition, there will be on-site consultants to provide guidance and to ensure the overall development and promotion of the startups stationed here. In addition to the finest infrastructure and facilities, the startups will be given technical support related to software, hardware and other necessary tools. For financing, they will get assistance of Rs 500 crore from Bhamashah Techno Fund. While the startups introduced by women will get Rs 100 crore and Rs 50 crore will be given to the environment-friendly innovations.

RKCL MD Ravindra Shukla informed that the evaluation of startups will be done in every four months. If the startups manage to keep their performance upto the mark then they will continue to get support, otherwise they will be excluded from the list.

The technohub will also create tinkering labs to promote creativity and imagination so that they can get help in achieving adaptive learning, computational thinking, physical computing and the skills of their choice.
