Seeing Rohit Sharma walk out to captain Mumbai Indians (MI) against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the last match of the league stage has got all confused.
The Hitman was not included in the Austalia tour series, but seeing him walking out for the toss has got netizens questioning the selectors. He has replaced Jayant Yadav after missing out on a few games owing to a hamstring injury.
Earlier, the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Sourav Ganguly said, "We are monitoring Ishant and Rohit. Ishant is not completely out. He will become a part of the Test series," he said. "With Rohit, we want him fit for Australia. At some stage, if he is fit, I am sure the selectors will rethink his position."
Ganguly also said there was the option of flying the duo later than the rest of the squad to Australia, despite the bio-bubble and quarantine rules. "They can be sent later. There are flights to Australia."
This is how netizens reacted:

Sourav Ganguly to PTI said that Rohit Sharma is injured currently. Otherwise why would they leave a player like him out. He's the Vice Captain of the Limited Overs Team. It's the BCCI's job to get their players back on park. If Rohit recovers, he plays.

So... Rohit Sharma is playing today... BCCI selection committee must be eating cockroach...for being too hasty to drop him from the Oz tour. It always looked suspicious!@BCCI @SGanguly99

Now @ImRo45 is back selectors should not create any nuisance and should name him in the squad for the down under as soon as possible @BCCI @SGanguly99 @RaviShastriOfc #MIvsSRH #RohitSharma

In the absence of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul has been named as the vice-captain for the limited-overs. India is all set to tour Australia for a three-match ODI series, a three-match T20I series, and a four-match Test series. The first game of the tour will commence on November 27.
