West Bengal CM and Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee has promised to probe demonetization and revive the Planning Commission if the opposition alliance comes to power after LS elections. She also launched a scathing attack on PM Modi over several issues.
Releasing the party’s manifesto, she said the 100 days’ work scheme would be increased to 200 and the wages doubled. “We would probe decision on demonetization and bring back the Planning Commission. The NITI Aayog is of no use,” she said.
Manifesto had several national issues, hinting at Mamata’s national ambitions.
Banerjee took exception to appointment of former BSF director general KK Sharma as special police observer for West Bengal and Jharkhand.
“How can a retired police officer look after the deployment of serving police personnel? During his tenure as the DG, he has attended an RSS programme,” she said.
