Paramhans Acharya is the chief priest of the Tapaswi Chawni temple of Ayodhya.
Ayodhya seer Paramhans Acharya had last month announced a reward of Rs 10 crore for beheading DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin over his alleged remarks against 'Sanatan Dharma'. "I will pay Rs 10 crore cash reward to anyone who beheads Stalin and brings his head to me. If no one dares to kill Stalin, I will myself find him and kill him," Paramhans Acharya had said.
Who is Paramhans Acharya?
Paramhans Acharya is the chief priest of the Tapaswi Chawni temple of Ayodhya.
Paramhans Acharya is originally from Bihar, but his parents had moved to Madhya Pradesh. During this time, Paramhans also started living with his parents in Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh. About 33 to 34 years ago, Paramhans's family had come to the temple of Gopal Das Ji Maharaj in Ayodhya. At that time Paramhans was only 17 years old. However, Paramhans did not go back and started living in a hut on the banks of Saryu. During this time, Paramhans made Nritya Gopal Das his guru.
He lives in his ashram near Ramghat in Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh. He had taken sannyasa in his childhood. In 2017, he received initiation from Gurudev Sarveshwar Das Ji of Tapasvi Cantonment. In the same year, he was made the chief priest of the Tapaswi Chawni temple of Ayodhya.
Paramhans Acharya believes, "Sanatan Dharma neither has a beginning nor an end. It has never been destroyed and can never be destroyed," he said, warning that anyone trying to destroy Sanatan Dharma will be destroyed."
What had Stalin said?
Stalin, the Tamil Nadu youth welfare minister, alleged that 'Sanatan Dharma' is against equality and social justice, and that it should be eradicated. He also likened 'Sanatan Dharma' to coronavirus, malaria, and dengue fever and said such things should not be opposed but destroyed.
Paramhans Acharya's past controversies
The seer has in the past made similar announcements over Samajwadi Party leader Swami Prasad Maurya's comments on Ramcharitmanas and over Shah Rukh Khan for showing saffron attire in his movie 'Pathaan'.
In 2020, Acharya made headlines by announcing that he would take 'Jal Samadhi' in the Sarayu river if Prime Minister Narendra Modi didn't declare India as a Hindu Rashtra by October 2, 2021. However, when the date neared, Acharya had called off his announcement.
