The Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) government in West Bengal on Monday extended the coronavirus disease (COVID-19)-necessitated lockdown in the containment zones in the state till September 30, in view of the rising number of COVID-19 cases amid the pandemic outbreak. The West Bengal state government has also decided to resume metro train services in a phased manner from September 8.

The West Bengal state government has also decided to resume metro train services in a phased manner from September 8.
Statewide complete lockdown will be observed on September 7 (Monday), September 11 (Friday), and September 12 (Saturday)
