Days after inhuman face of Uttar Pradesh Police was exposed in pictures dragging a Muslim man injured in attack by cow vigilante, a video has surfaced in which the Shahjahanpur Police was shown forcing an injured Muslim man to pick up packets of meat from his mouth.

Taking serious note of the incident, Shahjahanpur SP (City) Dinesh Tripathi has suspended a police inspector and constable for their inhuman act.

The incident that took place last week came to light on late Monday night when its video went viral on the social media. According to information, Bhure (36) was carrying a jute bag when he was stopped by cow vigilante in Bilandpur village in Shahjahanpur district on suspicion of smuggling cow meat.

They assaulted the man badly when they found meat packets wrapped in plastic sheets inside the jute bag. When he almost became unconscious, they handed him over to the Nigohi Police station along with the bag.

The video shows that the police opened the jute bag and forced the badly injured Muslim man to pick up a packet of meat from his mouth and put it back in the presence of villagers, many of whom were making videos to appreciate the inhuman act of the police.

The badly injured Muslim man was admitted at the CHC in serious condition. Bhure’s family members claimed that he was a meat seller and had gone to supply meat to his clients. They vehemently denied that Bhure was involved in cow slaughter or was supplying cow meat.

Baldev Singh Kaneda, the Circle Officer, however, defended the police act. “We saved him from the irate mob or else he would have been lynched. The police police only asked him to put back the meat in plastic packs back into the bag for examination,” said the CO.

However, when the video went viral on the social media, the SP City Dinesh Tripathi suspended a police inspector and a constable posted at the Nigohi Police Station. “We have suspended two cops after seeing the video. Further action will be taken after the inquiry,” the SP City said.
