Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Sidharth Nath Singh has home-isolated himself after complaining of primary symptoms and thereafter testing positive for Covid-19 on Thursday. Earlier in the day, Union Minister of State (MoS) for Social Justice and Empowerment, Krishan Pal Gurjar and BJP MP from Jammu-Poonch, Jugal Kishore Sharma have also tested positive for the coronavirus infection.
In a tweet, Sidharth Nath Singh informed about his health and also appealed to those who have come in his contact to get themselves tested.
Sidharth Nath Singh is Cabinet Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Investment & Export, Textile, Khadi & Gram Udyog in the Uttar Pradesh government and also the UP government's official spokesperson. A day before, Singh participated in an official event in his assembly constituency of Prayagraj to distribute residential rights to poor city dwellers.

As many as 64 new cases were reported in Meghalaya, including five BSF personnel on Thursday, taking the northeastern state's tally to 2,114, said health department. Seven more people tested positive for Covid-19 in Mizoram on Thursday, taking the state's tally to 974, a state health department official said. Mizoram has 501 active cases at present, while 473 people have recovered from the disease.
Himachal Pradesh's Covid-19 case tally stands at 5,365 including 3,865 recoveries, 1,426 active cases, and 30 deaths according to State Health Department.
Maharashtra Police sources told that 106 more police personnel found Covid-19 positive and 2 died in the last 24 hours in Maharashtra. The total number of Corona positive police personnel in the state reaches 14,295 including 2,604 active cases, 11,545 recoveries & 146 deaths to date.
In Rajasthan 633 new Covid-19 positive cases and 6 deaths were reported. The total number of cases now at 75,303 including 14,646 active cases and 998 deaths.
The Odisha Information and Public Relations Department informed on Thursday that the State has reported 3,384 new Covid-19 cases.
According to the State Health Department of the Government of Puducherry, 511 new Covid-19 cases, 275 discharged cases and 10 deaths reported in the state on Thursday. The total number of cases in the state stands at 12,434, including 4,483 active cases, 7,761 recovered cases, and 190 deaths to date.
2,795 new Covid-19 positive cases, 872 recoveries, and 8 deaths were reported in Telangana on August 26, taking the total number of cases to 1,14,483. The total number of cases includes 27,600 active cases, 86,095 recoveries, and 788 deaths, according to the State Health Department.
Meanwhile, the global coronavirus tally has gone up to 24,335,741 cases and 829,676 deaths, according to the worldometer.
